The Admissions, Outreach, and Diversity unit at UC Santa Barbara’s Graduate Division champions the outreach, recruitment, and success of a talented and diverse graduate student community. Outreach vs. Recruitment

Outreach encompasses all efforts aimed at encouraging prospective students to apply to our graduate programs. Recruitment, on the other hand, focuses on guiding admitted students toward finalizing their enrollment by submitting their Statements of Intent to Register (SIR)
