Members of the American Indian Graduate Student Alliance work to connect self-identified American Indian and Indigenous graduate students within and beyond the UCSB community, provide professional development opportunities, and develop interdisciplinary and relational approaches to American Indian and Indigenous (AII) studies.

The Asian Pacific Islander Graduate Student Alliance (APIGSA) at UC Santa Barbara is an organization that strives to create and maintain spaces of support for graduate students of Asian and Pacific Islander panethnicity while advocating for the needs and interests of Asian and Pacific Islander identified students. The Asian and Pacific Islander panethnic community’s plurality of experiences contributes to a rich archive of shared knowledge that networks across ostensibly separate incidents of social injustice. We welcome opportunities to critically engage notions of community in our development as students, individuals, and community members.

The Black Graduate Student Association (BGSA) is an interdisciplinary graduate student organization designed to provide academic support and social resources support that meet the needs of Black (of the African Diaspora) graduate students at UC Santa Barbara. BGSA supports and participates in scholarly activities that are intellectually stimulating and contribute to building the academic resources of its members. The BGSA also offers a valuable social network that builds on the organization's commitment to mentorship, research, and service.

The Graduate Student Association (GSA) at UC Santa Barbara is the elected representative government that ensures graduate student concerns are addressed in campus and off-campus policy decisions through representations on campus-wide and system-wide.

The Queer and Trans Graduate Student Union (QTGSU) at the University of California, Santa Barbara provides a safe space for LGBTQIA+ identified UCSB students to socialize, organize, and seek support. We advocate for the rights and well-being of LGBTQIA+ identified students on campus and work to foster ties with the greater Santa Barbara community.

The UCSB SACNAS chapter was established more than 10 years ago to serve as a support group for Chicanx, Hispanic, and Native American students, along with students of other ethnic backgrounds, to pursue the advanced degrees necessary for scientific research, industry, leadership, and teaching careers at all levels.

WiSE is a non profit campus organization; it was founded in Spring 2001 to promote equal opportunity for women and girls in science and engineering, and improve their scientific and career advancement. WiSE encourages the participation of all science/engineering undergraduates, graduates, researchers, faculty, and professionals in the Santa Barbara area.
