• Marzieh Gahvardband  is the first recipient of the Mahsa Amini Graduate Fellowship, an award created to support qualified scholars in a UC Santa Barbara doctoral program who have graduated from an Iranian institution with a bachelor’s degree in a non-STEM discipline. • Four graduate students in UC Santa Barbara's College of Engineering, Griffin Tong (Materials), Joshua Baston (Materials), Max Emerick (Mechanical Engineering) and Wesley Mills (Electrical and Computer Engineering) have won the National Defense Fellowship to pursue their respective doctoral research projects.
