Film and Media Studies Graduate Degree Program
| Description |
| The graduate program in Film and Media Studies is designed to be strongly disciplinary, interdisciplinary, and international. The program emphasizes the study of film and media history, theory, analysis, aesthetics, and criticism from a humanistic perspective, within the context of global media culture. Students are encouraged to incorporate study abroad as part of their dissertation research. Thirteen core faculty and seven associated faculty span a wide range of areas of specialization. In addition, three major publication projects are based in the department. |

- Writing Sample (Writing sample that demonstrates a high level of ability to write theory, criticism, or historical narrative. 8-20 pages of a coherent, completed essay and does not have to be about film.)
