Hispanic Language Institute, Summer Sessions Graduate Degree Program

Description
The Institute is designed to enable students to perfect their oral and written language skills and to provide them with in-depth knowledge of today's Spanish-speaking world. Through immersion in language and cultural experiences originating in Spain and Spanish America, students gain excellent preparation to become far more effective as teachers of Spanish or professionals who interact actively with Spanish-speaking persons. The key to the program's success is the students' interaction with distinguished faculty. These outstanding faculty are committed to preparing teachers to do research and teach about the languages and cultures of the Spanish-speaking world.

  • GRE General test scores
  • TOEFL scores 550 Paper-Based Test (PBT), 80 Internet-Based Test (IBT) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Overall Band score of 7 or higher (if applicable)
  • Writing Sample (The Writing Sample must be under 1,000 words in Spanish)
  • A 5 minute recorded/taped extemporaneous presentation in Spanish.
