Germanic Languages and Literatures Graduate Degree Program

Description
The Department of Germanic, Slavic, and Semitic Studies offers programs of study leading to the M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Germanic languages and literatures. M.A. and Ph.D. programs have a strong interdisciplinary focus that emphasizes the study of German literature as it intersects philosophy, critical theory, psychoanalysis, mediatechnology, Jewish studies, and other national literatures (in particular, Slavic, French, and English). The department also offers courses in computer-aided research and instruction, and the educational uses of multimedia and hypermedia for future teachers. The curriculum is designed to provide a thorough survey of the literature.
