Education -- GGSE Graduate Degree Program
| Description |
The Gevirtz Graduate School of Education (GGSE) prepares researchers, scholar practitioners, and educational leaders through academic programs in a variety of educational specializations. Students in the Department of Education may obtain an MA and/or PhD in one of six academic emphases: Cultural Perspectives and Comparative Education Child and Adolescent Development Educational Leadership and Organizations Research Methodology Special Education, Disabilities and Risk Studies Teaching and Learning (which includes a specialization in Technology and Society)
Once enrolled, students may add optional interdisciplinary doctoral emphases that include study in Applied Linguistics, Cognitive Science, Human Development, Language, Interaction, & Social Organizations, Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences, and Technology and Society. The Department of Education also offers a Joint Doctorate Program with Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in Educational Leadership (Ed.D.). Also available through the Education Department is an MA in Special Education, Disabilities, and Risk Studies with an ESC credential that begins in summer quarter. |

- TOEFL scores 550 Paper-Based Test (PBT), 80 Internet-Based Test (IBT) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Overall Band score of 7 or higher (if applicable)
- Writing Sample (Writing Samples are required for the Education Leadership and Organizations emphasis, and the Special Education and Disabilities Emphasis)
